Wanted to try real poutine, and this chain offers over a hundred variations. Decided on the Smoked Meat Max variation on house fries and with brown sauce (gravy). Only ordered a small to go, and it was still huge by my standards. And yes, the real cheese curds, even when melted by the gravy, squeak when chewed. Not sure how often I could do real poutine before a heart attack might become likely, but I did enjoy the experience (although the meal was a little heavy to sleep on).

We heard that this was the best poutine in Victo so visited for lunch. They appeared to be short staffed but our server was very pleasant and did the best she could. My husband and I shared a classic poutine and a poutine bistro. Both were good and the portions are very large. I prefer a strong brown gravy with poutine but Max's was very light and mild. It was a great place to try a special poutine but I would not return for a classic poutine.
